I restored, revitalized, and painted three large statues at the European headquarters of San Rocco Therapeutics in Altamura, Italy in July 2025. The originals were carved out of local stone by Mimmo Laterza in 1998 and revealed at the inauguration of the Centro Medico San Rocco.

Fulbright Scholar recipient, 2022-23
I am proud to share that I have been selected as a two-time Fulbright recipient to Italy (fellow, 2008-9, scholar, 2022-23) for my project “Sangue Tira,” or “Blood Pulls.” I will be located in Sicily continuing my work with San Rocco Therapeutics as we move forward towards a hopeful gene therapy cure for Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassemia and also teaching biomimetic design and sculpture at MADE in Siracusa. I look forward to representing both the US and Italy while making strides for the patients.
